Dendrimers

Repetitively (and usually symmetrically) branched molecules. In other words, branched polymers.

The name of dendrimers comes from the Greek word ”dendron,” which means “tree.”
Yes, they look like trees or snowflakes!

Poly(propylene imine) (PPI) dendrimer is one of the most common dendrimers.
I chose this one because it’s so beautifully symmetric. But there are many types of dendrimer.

Every dendrimer has a core from which the branches grow. Each “layer” of branches is called a generation (G0, G1, G2, …)

I hope you enjoy this beautiful symmetry, as I do :)
